Vermont: Where to stay, eat & Things to do

Growing up, my family and I have visited Vermont (specifically Smugglers’ Notch) where we loved doing fun outdoor activities so I always knew I would love to visit Vermont again as an adult. We visited Putney and Stratton Mountain Vermont in February 2020 where we both learned how to ski and stayed in our first yurt! Then in November 2022, I took a girl’s trip to Burlington, Waterbury and Stowe. And we have most recently visited Woodstock and Killington in February 2023 for sightseeing and skiing. Both the fall and winter have been such fun seasons to visit.

WHERE TO STAY

Yurt Airbnb – for a cozy, rustic private glamping experience! Located in Putney on a peaceful and beautiful six-acre farm with amazing views of nature. We stayed here in February 2020 and loved our stay!

Talta Lodge – for a luxury stay within nature. Located in Stowe, the mountain-chic hotel offers a cozy upscale ski lodge style and great amenities. Perfect for relaxation or adventure, the hotel is located at the foot of Mount Mansfield as well as on a little river with access points to a recreation path with walking/biking trails. Located a short drive from downtown Stowe, the hotel also offers an indoor pool and sauna, outdoor Adirondack chairs and fire pits that overlook the river, indoor common area with a cozy fireplace and occasional pop-up restaurants for dinner, beer on tap in the lobby, spacious rooms with comfortable beds, tasteful decor and balconies with a scenic view.
